We’re a home for your family and a haven for truth.

“Capitol City Baptist School does not discriminate against applicants or students on the basis of race, color, and national or ethnic origin.”

At CCBS, our goal is to stand alongside Christian parents, assisting them in the task of reproducing the mind of Christ in the lives of their children. It is our goal that our students will be trained to become God-fearing adults who are spiritually, physically, and mentally prepared to pursue careers in today’s world.

Who We Are

Founded in 1973, Capitol City Baptist School is a private non-profit, college preparatory Christian school that offers high academics and spiritual standards to families in Lansing and the surrounding Capital region.

CCBS is supported by, and is a ministry of, Capitol City Baptist Church. For more information about the church what we believe, please click here.

Our Mission

The mission of the administration, faculty, and staff of CCBS is to stand alongside Christian parents, assisting them in the task of reproducing the mind of Christ in the lives of their children. It is our goal that our students will be trained to become God-fearing adults who are spiritually, physically, and mentally prepared to pursue careers in today’s world.

We exist to develop a quality academic foundation, reinforce Christlike character, teach biblical values, and promote excellence in education to equip our young people to serve Christ.

A thoroughly Christian education is an education that will prepare a child to find his place in the will of God, no matter where that may lead him. Such an education is not meant to isolate the student from the world, but to equip him to boldly engage the world for the cause of Jesus Christ.

The Home, the Church, and the School - A Threefold Cord

Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

We believe the home is the most important aspect of the family. Parents are to bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and students are to honor their parents (Ephesians 6). Our church and Christian school partners with the home in the mutual goal of leading children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and discipling them in Christian values. The Scriptures plainly teach that parents are not just to be involved, but are responsible for the education of their children. The administration, faculty, and staff of the Academy are eager to assist you in faithfully discharging that responsibility.

We ask that you be in prayer for wisdom from God, and that He would bless this ministry. Thank you.
