Our Beliefs

The focus of Capitol City Baptist Church is the preaching and teaching of God’s eternal Word. Whether it be in our Sunday school classes, in the pulpit, or in our Christian School, we declare timeless truths from the Word of God along with practical applications for our everyday life.

We seek to glorify God with music that lifts up the name of Christ. Our music is traditional and yet exciting at the same time. You'll find congregational singing that is uplifting along with special music that aids in the worship of God in our services.

We hold to traditional, biblical, Baptist beliefs. We live in a society that families are torn apart and individuals are attacked and questioned on every side about what is truth. Because of this, people need a solid, steady anchor. We believe the preaching and teaching of the truths of God provides a stedfast foundation for people seeking direction in this sinful world.

A complete copy of our statement of faith can be obtained from the office, but CCBC holds to the following truths:

We believe the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is the verbally inspired Word of God. We use only the King James Version of the Bible in all Sunday classes and preaching ministry. (II Timothy 3:16)

We believe Jesus Christ was born of Mary the virgin, and is the very Son of God. (Matthew 1:23)

We believe Christ died for our sins. (Romans 6:23)

We believe He arose from the grave the third day. (1 Corinthians 15:4)

We believe He alone is the mediator and intercessor between God and man. (1 Timothy 2:5)

We believe in order to be “saved” the soul must be born again. (John 3:3)

We believe in salvation by grace through faith alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe every born-again soul should declare their faith through baptism by immersion in water. (Romans 6:4-5)

We believe Christ keeps those who are born again eternally secure. (Ephesians 1:13)

We believe Christians are called to separation from worldly, sinful practices, unto a life of usefulness for Christ. (Romans 12:1-2)

We believe a church is a body of baptized believers whose mission is to preach and teach the Gospel of salvation. (Matthew 28:18-20)
